Ramadan Tent Project is an award-winning charity established in 2013 with a mission of bringing communities together and developing the understanding of Ramadan. Ramadan Tent Project organises the annual Ramadan Festival, which is a collection of artistic, cultural, creative events to inspire and engage audiences from all backgrounds, in addition to the UK’s largest community event in Ramadan, Open Iftar.
Shahed Saleem is an architect, writer, and teacher at the University of Westminster School of Architecture. He is the author of ‘The British Mosque, an architectural and social history’, published in 2018 by Historic England. His research and practice interests are in the architecture of migrant and post-migrant communities, and in particular their relationship to notions of heritage, belonging and nationhood.
